When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder - much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing - not even a smear of blood - to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know....

Everytime I would see City of Bones at the bookstore, I would never pick it up. I kept on hearing so many good reviews on it, but I kept judging it from the cover and synopsis on the back and would walk by part it, until one day I decided to give it a try ... and it was the best decision I made!

City of Bones is such a new concept in the YA world and I fell in love with it. Clare writes such a seductive story that I never wanted to stop and I never wanted to leave the word there. Clary was not an annoying character and even though she had her faults, she always stood up for herself and was doing everything for her mother. Then there's Jace. Hot, beautiful Jace ... only if he was real! I loved his rudness in the story because I knew behind that was a very sweet guy and he did show that soft spot of his, even though he tried masking it all the time.

Now when I look at the cover, it really describes the Shadowhunters world and everything else about the book. My next review will be on City of Ashes, the sequal, and let me tell you, I loved it as well!!
